On election day, 5 November 1929,Democratic nomineeJames Hubert Price won the election by a margin of 80,805 votes against his opponentRepublican nominee C. B. Jones, thereby retaining Democratic control over the office of lieutenant governor. Price was sworn in as the 23rdlieutenant governor of Virginia on 20 January 1930.[2]
