The1924 United States presidential election in South Dakota took place on November 4, 1924, as part of the1924 United States presidential election which was held throughout all contemporary 48 states. Voters chose five representatives, or electors to theElectoral College , who voted forpresident andvice president .
South Dakota voted for theRepublican nominee, incumbent PresidentCalvin Coolidge ofMassachusetts , overIndependent [ a] nominee,Senator Robert M. La Follette ofWisconsin andDemocratic nominee, AmbassadorJohn W. Davis ofWest Virginia . Coolidge ran with formerBudget Director Charles G. Dawes ofIllinois , while Davis ran withGovernor Charles W. Bryan ofNebraska and La Follette ran withMontana Senator Burton K. Wheeler .
Coolidge won South Dakota by a margin of 12.73% of the vote.
