The1916 United States Senate election in Nebraska took place on November 7, 1916. Incumbent SenatorGilbert Hitchcock, a Democrat, sought re-election in his first popular election. He won the Democratic primary and the cross-endorsement of thePeople's Independent party and faced former CongressmanJohn L. Kennedy in the general election. Hitchcock won re-election as Democratic PresidentWoodrow Wilson handily won the state in thepresidential election.
