The1914 Minnesota Secretary of State election was held on 3 November 1914 in order to elect theSecretary of State of Minnesota.Republican nominee andincumbent Secretary of StateJulius A. Schmahl defeatedDemocratic nominee Nels N. Bergheim,Prohibition nominee Iver M. Kalnes andProgressive nominee John C. Lewis.[1]
On election day, 3 November 1914,Republican nomineeJulius A. Schmahl won re-election by a margin of 83,485 votes against his foremost opponentDemocratic nominee Nels N. Bergheim, thereby retaining Republican control over the office of Secretary of State. Schmahl was sworn in for his fifth term on 3 January 1915.[2]
