Gov.John C. McKinley,ProgressiveAlbert D. Nortoni, and candidates representing theSocialist,Prohibition, andSocialist Labor parties. Major defeated former representativeWilliam S. Cowherd and former lieutenant governorAugust Bolte for his party's nomination, while McKinley defeated former representativeArthur P. Murphy and former Secretary of State John Ephraim Swanger.
