New York was managed byGeorge Stallings andHal Chase. Their home games were played atHilltop Park. The alternate and equally unofficial nickname, "Yankees", was being used more and more frequently by the media.

  • August 30, 1910:Tom Hughes threw nine no-hit innings against theCleveland Naps, but the game was tied 0–0, so the game went to extra innings. Hughes gave up a hit with one out in the tenth, then wound up giving up five runs in the eleventh to lose the game, 5–0.[1] The franchise would wait another seven years for their first officialno-hitter.
