The1908 United States presidential election in South Carolina took place on November 3, 1908, as part of the1908 United States presidential election. Voters chose nine representatives, or electors to theElectoral College, who voted forpresident andvice president.

South Carolina overwhelmingly voted for theDemocratic nominee, formerU.S. RepresentativeWilliam Jennings Bryan, over theRepublican nominee,Secretary of WarWilliam Howard Taft. Bryan won the state by a landslide margin of 87.9 points, even carryingHampton County unanimously.

With 93.84% of the popular vote, South Carolina would be Bryan's strongest victory in terms of percentage in the popular vote.[1] Although South Carolina was also Taft's weakest state, he had performed slightly better in the state thanTheodore Roosevelt hadfour years prior.

Bryan had previously won the state twice againstWilliam McKinley in both1896 and1900.
