The1904 Minnesota Secretary of State election was held on 8 November 1904 in order to elect theSecretary of State of Minnesota.Republican nominee andincumbent Secretary of StatePeter E. Hanson defeatedDemocratic nominee John E. King,Socialist nominee J. Edward Carlson andProhibition nominee Hendrick A. Rygh.[1]
On election day, 8 November 1904,Republican nomineePeter E. Hanson won re-election by a margin of 96,656 votes against his foremost opponentDemocratic nominee John E. King, thereby retaining Republican control over the office of Secretary of State. Hanson was sworn in for his third term on 7 January 1905.[2]
