  • Two new Cape gauge locomotive types enter service on the Imperial Military Railways (IMR):
  • The British War Office places two Sirdar class0-4-0T narrow gauge tank steam locomotives in service near Germiston. In 1912 they would becomeClass NG1 on the South African Railways.[6]
