Childs defeatedDemocratic nominee William Brackenridge,People's nominee and former member of theU.S. House of Representatives fromMinnesota's 3rd districtJohn L. MacDonald andProhibition nominee Robert Taylor.[1]
On election day, November 6, 1894,Republican nominee Henry W. Childs won re-election by a margin of 83,624 votes against his foremost opponentDemocratic nominee William Brackenridge, thereby retaining Republican control over the office of attorney general. Childs was sworn in for his second term on January 31, 1895.[2]
