The1886 Epsom Derby was ahorse race which took place atEpsom Downs on 26 May 1886. It was the 106th running of theDerby, and it was won byOrmonde. The winner was ridden byFred Archer and trained byJohn Porter. At the initial nomination stage 205 entries were received. At the beginning of 1886Ormonde,Minting and Saraband were all a similar price for the Derby, around 11/2, with The Bard at 6/1.[1] NeitherMinting or Saraband lined up at Epsom though, both having been easily beaten byOrmonde in the2000 Guineas.
