The1884 United States presidential election in California was held on November 4, 1884, as part of the1884 United States presidential election. State voters chose eight representatives, or electors, to theElectoral College, who voted forpresident andvice president. .

California voted for theRepublican nominee, formerSecretary of StateJames G. Blaine, by a comfortable margin, over theDemocratic nominee,New York GovernorGrover Cleveland.

Cleveland became the first Democrat to ever win without California since its statehood.
