This election featuredRepublican nomineeAlbinus Nance, the Speaker of theNebraska House of Representatives, defeatingDemocratic nominee Colonel William H. Webster, a lawyer fromMerrick County, Nebraska, andGreenback Party nominee Levi G. Todd, a former member of theNebraska Territorial House of Representatives fromCass County, Nebraska.[1]
