The1867 Vermont gubernatorial election took place on September 3, 1867.[1] In keeping with the "Mountain Rule",[2] incumbent RepublicanPaul Dillingham was not a candidate for another term asgovernor of Vermont. The Republican nomination was won byJohn B. Page, who had previously served asVermont State Treasurer.[3] The Democratic nomination was won byJohn L. Edwards ofNewport, who had previously served asState's Attorney ofOrleans County.[4] In the general election, Page was elected to a one-year term as governor.[5]
