Pennsylvania voted for theDemocratic candidate,Franklin Pierce, over theWhig candidate,Winfield Scott. Pierce won the state by a margin of 5.02%.

Bradford,McKean,Potter andTioga counties have only voted Democratic once since this election, in1964.
