The1806 Vermont gubernatorial election forGovernor of Vermont took place on September 2, 1806.[1] It resulted in the re-election ofIsaac Tichenor to a one-year term.[2]
TheVermont General Assembly met inMiddlebury on October 9.[2] TheVermont House of Representatives appointed a committee to examine the votes of thefreemen of Vermont for governor,lieutenant governor,treasurer, and members of the governor's council.[2]
The committee's examination of the votes showed that GovernorIsaac Tichenor was chosen for a tenth one-year term.[2] In the election for lieutenant governor, the voters selectedPaul Brigham for an eleventh one-year term.[2]Benjamin Swan was elected to his seventh one-year term as treasurer.[2]
In the races for lieutenant governor and treasurer, the vote totals and names of other candidates were not recorded.[2] According to a contemporary newspaper report, the vote totals for governor were as follows.[3]
