12 Yard Productions (Investments) Limited,[1][2]trading as12 Yard, is a Britishtelevision production company. It was founded in 2001 as a joint-venture betweenDavid Young and the creative team behind the worldwide hitWeakest Link andHat Trick Productions.[3][4]
12 Yard has gone on to become one of the world's most successful entertainment format creators, producing hit formats including the BBC's long-running early evening quizEggheads, Saturday night BBC One lottery formatsThe National Lottery: In it to Win it andWho Dares Wins!, primetime feel-good formatHolding out for a Hero,Take on the Twisters andBig Star's Little Star for ITV, andCoach Trip,Celebrity Coach Trip andChristmas Coach Trip for Channel 4.
On 5 December 2007, it was confirmed thatITV plc had acquired 12 Yard for £35 million.[5]
On 22 October 2024, ITV announced that it would plan to close the studio at the end of the year, with its IPs and shows being transitioned off to other ITV Studios subsidiaries.[6]
