The 'Namgis (styledʼNa̱mǥis) are anIndigenous nation, a part of theKwakwaka'wakw, in centralBritish Columbia, on northernVancouver Island. Their main village is now Yalis, onCormorant Island adjacent toAlert Bay.[1] TheIndian ActFirst Nations government of this nation is theNamgis First Nation. They were formerly known as the Nimpkish.[2]
