Ľubor Kresák (23 August 1927 inTopoľčany – 20 January 1994 inBratislava) was aSlovakastronomer.[1]
He discovered twocomets: theperiodic comet41P/Tuttle-Giacobini-Kresak and the non-periodicC/1954 M2 (Kresak-Peltier).He also suggested in 1978 that theTunguska event was a fragment of the periodiccomet Encke.
Theasteroid1849 Kresák was named in his honor.
His wifeMargita Kresáková was also an astronomer.[1]
