Ys X: Nordics[b] is a 2023action role-playing game developed byNihon Falcom. A part of theYs series, it was released in Japan for thePlayStation 4,PlayStation 5, andNintendo Switch in September 2023 and was released worldwide byNIS America, including aWindows port, in October 2024. An enhanced version,Ys X: Proud Nordics,[c] was released in Japan for theNintendo Switch 2 in July 2025 and will be released worldwide in February 2026, also for the PlayStation 5 and Windows.
Ys X: Nordics takes place chronologically betweenYs II: Ancient Ys Vanished – The Final Chapter (1988) andYs: Memories of Celceta (2012) and follows series protagonistAdol Christin who gets introduced to the seafaring warrior Karja Balta and the conflict between the Normans, her people, and monsters known as the Griegr.
Ys X: Nordics is anaction role-playing game played from athird-person perspective.[1] It breaks away from the party system used inYs Seven (2009),Ys: Memories of Celceta (2012),Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana (2016), andYs IX: Monstrum Nox (2019) by only featuring two playable characters.[1] The game features sailing and ship combat, a first for the series.[1]
Ys X: Nordics, the tenth main entry in theYs series, was developed byNihon Falcom and released for thePlayStation 4,PlayStation 5, andNintendo Switch in Japan on September 28, 2023. AWindows port was released in Asian markets on March 14, 2024.[2] The game was released worldwide on all four platforms byNIS America, localized in English and French, on October 25, 2024.[2][3]
An enhanced version,Ys X: Proud Nordics, was released in Japan on July 31, 2025 for theNintendo Switch 2,[4] followed by a Chinese and Korean release on Switch 2 and Windows on August 21, 2025.[5] A worldwide release by NIS America for both platforms and PlayStation 5 is scheduled for February 20, 2026.[6][7]Proud Nordics adds new character abilities, bosses, and levels.[8]
