Having worked for 2 years editing articles for Women In Red, a group of organizers have concluded that sourcing is one of the biggest hurdles in creating articles on women and non-binary genders. Though it is true that a lot of sourcing simply doesn’t exist, it is also true that there are sources, but we have no access to them. As these groups did not typically become subjects for academic study until the 1970s, many of the sources are not on line or are behind paywalls. Failure to include women and non-binary people in the encyclopedia presents a one-dimensional view of society and history. To address those issues, we are forming a new User Group aimed at referencing and support for like-minded groups and would appreciate your input or input from your supporters in our organizational process. For WikiProjects that participate in rating articles, thebanners for talk pages usually say something like:
There is a proposal to change the default wording on the banners to say "priority" instead of "importance". This could affect the template for your group. Please join the discussion atWikipedia talk:WikiProject Council#Proposal to update wording on WikiProject banners.Stefen 𝕋owerHuddle •Handiwerk19:53, 6 December 2025 (UTC) (on behalf of the WikiProject Council)[reply]

Throughout the whole of 2026, Women in red is focusing onwomen in sport. This provides opportunities for creating biographies of notable women in a wide variety of sports, not forgetting those competing in the Winter Olympics and Paralypics early in the year. If you are not already a member of Women in Red, feel free to join up under "New registrations"here.--Ipigott (talk)09:37, 29 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
