For the North Augusta, South Carolina radio station that held the call sign WYNF at 1380 AM from 2006 to 2010, seeWNRR. For the Tampa, Florida radio station that held the call sign WYNF at 95 FM from 1978 to 1993, seeWWRM.

WYNF (1340AM) is aradio station licensed toAugusta, Georgia, United States. The station is owned byiHeartMedia, and serves as Augusta's affiliate for theBlack Information Network. Its studios are located at the Augusta Corporate Center near theI-20/I-520 interchange in Augusta, and the transmitter tower is west ofPaine College in Augusta.

History

In February 1999, WBBQ became anaffiliate ofRadio Disney.[2] In February 2000, WBBQ dropped the Radio Disney programming and switched to theESPN Radio.[3]

Up until September 2010, this station, as WSGF, carried agospel music format as "Hallelujah 1340". In September 2010, WYNF and itssports radio format moved to 1340; the call sign and format were previously on 1380, which was sold off and later becameWNRR.

On June 29, 2020, fifteen iHeartMedia stations in markets with largeAfrican American populations, including WYNF, beganstunting with African American speeches, interspersed with messages such as "Our Voices Will Be Heard" and "Our side of the story is about to be told", with a new format slated to launch on June 30.[4][5] That day, WYNF, along with the other fourteen stations, became the launch stations for theBlack Information Network, an African American-orientedall-news radio network. Prior to the change, WYNF was aFox Sports Radio affiliate.[6]
