WPLV (95.7FM) is anon-commercial, listener-supported radio stationlicensed toNavarre, Florida, and serving thePensacola metropolitan area.Owned by theEducational Media Foundation (EMF), it airs its nationalChristian contemporary music network,K-LOVE.
The stationsigned on in 2000 as WGCX with a locally-programmed contemporary Christian format. While it was still aconstruction permit, the station had thecall signs WAFN, WZEW, and WGCX-FM.[2]
In October 2013, 550 AM, Inc., sold WKFP toEducational Media Foundation for $1.75 million.[3] The sale was consummated on December 23, 2013, and shortly thereafter, it began carrying the nationalK-LOVE network.
The station changed its call sign on July 21, 2015, to the current WPLV to represent the words Pensacola and K-Love.
