Vinicius Balieiro Lourenço de Carvalho (born 28 May 1999), known asVinicius Balieiro (Brazilian Portuguese:[viˈnisjuzbɐliˈejɾu]), is a Brazilianfootballer who plays forChapecoense. Mainly adefensive midfielder, he can also play as aright back.
Born inCampinas,São Paulo, Balieiro representedPaulista's under-15s in the 2014 season, but had to leave the club at the end of the season. He returned one year later and featured in the 2017 edition of theCopa São Paulo de Futebol Júnior.[2]
Balieiro made his senior debut on 12 February 2017, coming on as a second-halfsubstitute in a 2–0 away loss againstMonte Azul.[3] He appeared in two further matches for the main squad before leaving.

In May 2017, Baileiro moved toSantos, being assigned to the under-20 squad.[2] He was assigned tothe B-team ahead of the 2019 campaign, training regularly with the first team.[4] On 21 July 2020, he was registered forthe year'sCampeonato Paulista.[5]
Balieiro made his first team – andSérie A – debut for Santos on 14 November 2020, starting in a 2–0 home win againstInternacional.[6] He made hisCopa Libertadores debut ten days later, replacing goalscorerYeferson Soteldo in a 2–1 away success overLDU Quito.[7]
Balieiro scored his first professional goal on 9 March 2021, netting the opener in a 2–1 home win againstDeportivo Lara.[8] On 11 October, he renewed his contract until December 2025.[9]
On 2 August 2023, Balieiro was loaned toSérie B sideItuano until the end of the year.[10]
On 8 January 2025, after spending the previous campaign without playing, Balieiro was loaned toChapecoense in the second division, for one year.[11] He was an immediate first-choice until suffering aknee injury in February,[12] and signed a permanent deal with the club the following January.
Balieiro is physically likened to formerBrazil national team midfielderPaulinho, being known asPaulinho during his stint at Paulista.[2] His younger brotherThiago is also a footballer; acentral defender, he also plays for Santos.[13]
