Thevaginal venous plexus is a group of veins drainingblood from thevagina. It lies around the sides of the vagina. Its blood eventually drains into theinternal iliac veins.
The vaginal venous plexus lies around the sides of thevagina.[1] Its branches communicate with theuterine venous plexuses,vesical venous plexus, andrectal venous plexuses. It is drained by thevaginal veins, one on either side. These eventually drain into theinternal iliac veins (hypogastric veins).[1][2]
The vaginal venous plexus drainsblood from thevagina.[2] It helps to make the vagina highly vascular.[2]
