Articles for deletion/List of coal mines and landmarks in the Nanaimo area

[edit]

Hi voorts

I created this now deleted article back when I was more active on wikipedia and missed the notification of its deletion (my fault) so I am too late to engage in the discussion about the deletion. I have reviewed the discussion. Although the rationale for its deletion is not clear to me, the consensus is clear and those involved in the process know more than I do about these things. I do not dispute the decision but would like to explore whether there is an appropriate way to present the content, or some of it, in a satisfactory way. Coal mining is significant in the history of Nanaimo. Mines and their consequences pervade the city and the information about the mine locations came from what I believe to be a reliable source, fully credited. Is there something you could point me to where I could find advice about whether some of the information in the former article could be salvaged in an appropriate way?

Thanks,

~~~~KenWalker |Talk07:30, 13 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]
I would recommend editingNanaimo § History directly. There's no need for a separate article.voorts (talk/contributions)22:10, 13 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]
Mental activity
[edit]
Hi, you deleted the redirect "Mental activity" afterthis discussion. However there was only one vote after that redirect was added to the redirect discussion and it was to retarget. There are still pages linking to that redirect and I don't know what to do with them. For example, there's a link on the pagethought. Isn't it common to remove links to a redirect when it's deleted?Canadachick (talk)17:19, 14 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]
The !votes formental activities applied with equal force tomental activity. The !vote for a redirect was purely speculative and did not address the concerns that the term is vague. Yes, usually redirects are unlinked. I must've forgotten to do that.voorts (talk/contributions)17:24, 14 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]
