Hi Rosie! My name is Katie Eberle and I attend Syracuse University in Syracuse, NY. I am part of the US Public Policy Wikipedia Project, in a class called Transnational NGO's in World Affairs. I will be editing a few articles concerning transnational NGO's and one article concerning US policy and was wondering if you would consider being my online ambassador. Thanks!— Precedingunsigned comment added byKatheb246 (talkcontribs)16:41, 29 March 2011 (UTC)

Chad-Cameroon Petroleum Development and Pipeline Project

Hi! Thank you so much for being my ambassador! I've chosen a couple pages that I am interested in editing, and the first is theChad-Cameroon Petroleum Development and Pipeline Project. This article needs many more sources, so I am planning on adding those while also just adding more general information, particularly about Cameroon, since most of the article is about Chad. For my class, I need to focus mainly on Non-Governmental Organizational involvement, and so I was thinking about starting a new section for NGO's, and focusing and developing information about just a few of the large organizations that have been involved with this project. I wrote on the discussion page to let everyone know I hoped to start adding information soon. The second topic is more related to US Public Policy, and so I am hoping to edit theEnergy Task Force page, although there seems to have some controversy on the discussion page concerning different political point of views, and so maybe I shouldn't get involved? Whew, that's a lot of info! thanks again!Katheb246 (talk)23:42, 3 April 2011 (UTC)

Second opinion

Hi! I wanted an admins opinion on this. I removed the "Satire" section from theKevin Federline page. I've been thinking of doing that for a while, as it seems to be little more than a list of miscellaneous information and not at all encyclopedic. In addition to that, his public reception is handled in other parts of the article.

I keep an eye daily on the KF page because it seems to be prone to vandalism, although that has been less of an issue lately.AlaskaMike (talk)17:25, 16 April 2011 (UTC)

Yeah that was the history I initially wrote. That section will have to be merged into the translated stuff somehow!♦Dr. Blofeld19:26, 24 April 2011 (UTC)

Oh, split into series of multiple articles of course likeHistory of Barranquilla,Architecture of Barranquilla etc and then condense it, although I kind of like it full, but it is eh a little too full I agree. Although Spanish wiki has an even fuller article on its history which could be translated later. However, I don't want to split just yet. We want to DYK it as full first!♦Dr. Blofeld20:01, 24 April 2011 (UTC)

Yeah author= needs replacing with publisher=. Also I suspect a lot of the references are dead and might need replacing. It shouldn't be too difficult to find sources on such a major city I don't think..♦Dr. Blofeld20:07, 24 April 2011 (UTC)

I have zero connection to the company, or to Efron for that matter, but I don't want it to appear that I am making a plug for the company. Hey Rosie,Not sure I am doing this correctly....this is the darndest thing to get a hang of!I responded to the independent reviewer (James) but again, not sure it actually went to him. I told him I have the history books of Tennessee that shows she was the first woman "elected" to the senate in Tennessee. I am 100% sure of this. I have two articles, one is a laminated obituary from the Nashville Banner dated 2-23-1966 and the other is a Tennessean/Nashville Banner article in Jan 1945 with a photo of her in the Senate Chambers proclaiming in the article of her being the first woman elected to the senate in Tennessee. I could take a photo of the pictures and email them but submitting them via this method is simply too confusing.

Would it be possible to email me directly at blashlee@hotmail.com  ?

Thanks for the suggestions. I always ensure that one space is left after the last reference. However, keeping the lead space without references will be followed in future as I have mostly in all my articles given the references in the lead also to avoid repeating the text in the following sections. I would like you to look at the review comments belowWildlife of Tanzania and see if you can cutout the hook atALT1 since I am not sure of the procedure. I have suggested an alternative hook after deleting the commercial website reference to the national bird. Do you have any preference for hook text for theWildlife of Djibouti? Djibouti Frankolin is ruled out since you have already posted a DYK on that.--Nvvchar.04:24, 31 May 2011 (UTC)

No problem. Can I make a suggestion to you too? Can you try to avoid one sentence paragraphs and sections? I think if there's not enough info for a proper paragraph then it should be avoided. The way I was taught is to always avoid short paragraphs... Anyway.Tibetan Prayer10:12, 31 May 2011 (UTC)

It was promoted in a few hours of my posting the DYK and even moved to prep area in the lead. The review in the light of additional information added by you is absolutely fine. The hook text now has more punch and it should be accepted. I have recorded acceptance of the revised hook. --Nvvchar.04:32, 1 June 2011 (UTC)

I don't understand the reviewer's observations underPhnom Bok on WP:MoS on AD and range dashes (893–927 AD). Can you rectify it, please? In the words “pictured brahma image, a trimurti” , 'a trimurti' could be deleted. On the summer solistice issue I don't think we can add more. --Nvvchar.17:00, 2 June 2011 (UTC)
This reference[1]] could help in replying to the solstice query.--Nvvchar.04:18, 3 June 2011 (UTC)
I have quoted relevant texts from the references 5 and 6 for more clarity on the issue. I suggest this alternative for the hook with suitable chanage to be made in the main text in the lead...that the summer solstice occurring overPhnom Bok hill temple, which had the images ofTrimurtis (pictured image of Brahma) defied in it, could be observed from the temple’s western entrance?--Nvvchar.05:49, 3 June 2011 (UTC)

Further, I suggest the following change in the lead section third paragraph: "From the astronomical references planned for the temples, out of the four noted alignments three, namely, equinox andwinter andSolar Solstices occur just inside the western entrance of Phnom Bok hill temple which is also known for the triple sanctuary dedicated to the Trimurti."

The hook has been promoted to the prep area.--Nvvchar.06:06, 3 June 2011 (UTC)
The changes made in the last para of the lead section is fine.--Nvvchar.06:13, 3 June 2011 (UTC)

Hi Rosiestep, I've picked up your DYK for this article. The hook, cite, length and date are all fine, but there are a few clean up jobs needed in the article.
In the lead it states "His work is in Mexico, Europe, America, Africa, Middle and South America", you have mentioned America twice, split by Africa. Is the first America meant to be North America, or maybe the United States?
In the article he is refered to as Noldi (under Early years), then Schreck (later sections). As Noldi is a nickname I wasn't sure if it was like a Pele or a Bono, but one needs to be stuck to.
The date format also swings between European and American. One needs to be chosen. Should all be good to go after that. ThanksFruitMonkey (talk)15:04, 2 June 2011 (UTC)

wow, thanks for the marked improvement to this article. there's a bunch more in these list articles:List of religious houses in Scotland,List of abbeys and priories in England. maybe we need an improvement drive.98.163.75.189 (talk)18:45, 5 June 2011 (UTC)

by way of background, a lot of these geographic, and priory stubs were created with only a sentence, and no references. the list articles catch them (makes a good to do list) some are demolished and some are listed buildings. i will try to sweep through and incorporate some google references.98.163.75.189 (talk)00:25, 6 June 2011 (UTC)

I have found the google book reference (instead of an individual's website) and also some more on etymology and arts which I have added in the text. Before I post it on DYK, pl have a look at the additions made. My proposal for the hook is ...that from the time of their migration fromPapua New Guinea, the homeland ofKanak people(pictured) has beenNew Caledonia?
