The Queen's Necklace (French:Le collier de la reine) is a 1929 synchronized sound Frenchhistoricaldrama film directed byTony Lekain andGaston Ravel and starringMarcelle Chantal,Georges Lannes andDiana Karenne. While the film has no audible dialog, it was released with a synchronized musical score with sound effects.[1] The film is an adaptation ofAlexandre Dumas's novelThe Queen's Necklace which portrays theAffair of the Diamond Necklace which occurred before theFrench Revolution. The film'sart direction was byLucien Carré. The film was made and distributed byGaumont. In Germany it was released by the major studioUFA.
Like many films from the early sound era, the film was shot as asilent film and then was synchronized with a musical score and sound effectsoundtrack.
