Térence Atmane (born 9 January 2002) is a French professionaltennis player. He has a career-highATP singles ranking of world No. 61, achieved on 29 September 2025.
In the first half of 2022, Atmane played multipleITF tournaments inMonastir, Tunisia, reaching the finals five times, with two titles and three runner-ups.
In May, Atmane played his first Grand Slam qualifying match at theFrench Open, losing in the first round toZdeněk Kolář. In August, Atmane made hisUS Open qualifying debut and recorded his first Grand Slam qualifying win, defeatingMáté Valkusz in the first round, before losing toJames Duckworth in the second round, having failed to convert three match points.[1]
In September, Atmane won his firstChallenger title inZhangjiagang, defeating qualifier Mikalai Haliak in the final.[2] Two weeks later, Atmane won his secondChallenger title inGuangzhou, defeating top seedChristopher O'Connell in the quarterfinals and second seedMarc Polmans in the final.[3] Atmane broke into the top 150 as a result.[4]
Atmane made hisATP Tour debut at the2023 Zhuhai Championships, losing to eighth seed and eventual finalistYoshihito Nishioka in the first round despite winning the first set 6–0.[5] In October, Atmane made his debut at theATP Masters 1000 level as a qualifier at theRolex Shanghai Masters.[6] He won his first match on theATP Tour by defeatingJordan Thompson in the first round[7][8] before losing to 22nd seedNicolás Jarry in the second round.[9] In November, he qualified for his third ATP tournament at the2023 Sofia Open, where he lost in the first round to eight seedMárton Fucsovics.
Atmane made his Major debut at the2024 Australian Open as a qualifier. In the first round of the main draw, he won the first set against world No. 3Daniil Medvedev, but ultimately retired two sets to one down due to cramping.[10]
As the top qualifying seed, he entered the2024 Dallas Open as a lucky loser but lost toYoshihito Nishioka. He also qualified for his firstATP 500 tournament, the2024 Abierto Mexicano Telcel.
In May, Atmane qualified for the main draw of theItalian Open, defeatingThanasi Kokkinakis andHarold Mayot in the qualifying competition.[11] He defeatedChristopher Eubanks in the first round for his second careerATP win and also second at a Masters level.[12] He defeated 26th seedLorenzo Musetti to reach the third round for the first time at a Masters level.[13] As a result he moved into the top 120 in the rankings. He lost in the third round to eight seedGrigor Dimitrov.[14][15]In May, Atmane received a wildcard to make his2024 French Open debut.[16][17] He lost in the first round toSebastian Ofner in five sets.[18] Atmane received a warning, and was subsequently fined after the match $25,000, for hitting a spectator with a ball during the match.[19]
In July, Atmane reached his third careerChallenger final inGranby, Canada, losing toYunchaokete Bu in the final.[20]In October, for the second straight year, Atmane reached the second round of theShanghai Open, losing to seventh seedTaylor Fritz in the second round.[21][22]
In April, Atmane won his firstChallenger title in more than a year and biggest of his career thus far at theBusan Open in South Korea, defeating top seedAdam Walton in the final.[23][24] Two weeks later, he won another Challenger title inGuangzhou, defeating defending championTristan Schoolkate in the final.[25][26]
In May, Atmane received a second consecutive main draw wildcard for the2025 French Open.[27][28] He lost toRichard Gasquet in the first round.[29]Atmane won his first match of the year on theATP Tour at theCroatia Open, by defeatingDušan Lajović in the first round.[30] He lost toPablo Llamas Ruiz in the second round.[31]
In August, Atmane reached the semifinal of aMasters 1000 for the first time at the2025 Cincinnati Open as a qualifier, defeatingYoshihito Nishioka in the first round,[32] fifteenth seedFlavio Cobolli in the second round,[33] andJoão Fonseca in the third round.[34] He then defeated fourth seedTaylor Fritz in the fourth round, his first top 10 win.[35][36] In the quarterfinal, he defeated seventh seedHolger Rune. As a result Atmane made his top 70 debut on 18 August 2025 at world No. 69.[37][38][39] He lost to top seed and defending championJannik Sinner in the semifinal.[40]
