Tasha Suri is a Britishauthor and formeracademic librarian. Herdebut novelEmpire of Sand (2018) won Suri the Sydney J. Bounds Best Newcomer Award at the 2019British Fantasy Awards[1] and was listed byTime as one of the 100 best fantasy books of all time in 2020.[2] In 2022, her novelThe Jasmine Throne won theWorld Fantasy Award forBest Novel.[3]
Suri was born inHarrow, London toPunjabi parents; they often returned toIndia for vacations.[4]
She studied English andcreative writing atUniversity of Warwick. Formerly an academic librarian atImperial College London,[5] she is now a full-time writer.[4]
