As this article currently covers two people, I propose that it is split into separate articles for each, using the un-anglicized versions of their names:
Alternatively, the page may be moved and given a title that refers to them both, e.g.Contreras luthiers, so that their work is presented together on one page without it looking like two biographies nested into one.Uffda608 (talk)22:25, 22 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I think that it is better to keep the two Contreras luthiers together, since they are closely related both in style and technique. And it is clear from the label of an instrument in my possession that at least the son used 'Joseph', or the abbreviation 'Jph', rather than José.JimHut (talk)20:06, 6 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]
