Syfy (formerlySci-Fi) is a Spanish digitalsatellite/cable television channel. It was launched on 1 June 2006 and specializes inscience fiction,fantasy, andhorror shows and movies.[1][2]

Owned byUniversal Networks International, it is the fifth extension of the Syfy brand. The programming consists of a mixture ofU.S. Syfy first-run shows likeHaven andDefiance, current shows likeBeauty & the Beast and archive shows such asSmallville andCharmed, as well as science-fiction and fantasy-themed movies, reality shows and scientific divulgation programs (Universo Syfy).
