TheSun-Reporter is an American weekly newspaper serving theAfrican-American community ofSan Francisco.

History

The newspaper was founded in 1943.[1] WhenCarlton Benjamin Goodlett, the paper's longtime owner, died in 1997, Amelia Ashley-Ward became the paper's proprietor.[2] TheSun-Reporter owns the regions two other black weeklies, theCalifornia Voice and theMetro Reporter.[2]

Notable journalists associated with the paper includeThomas C. Fleming[3] andBelva Davis.[4]
