Stuart W. Cooper (born 1942) is an American filmmaker, actor and writer.[1]

Career

Cooper was a resident of the United Kingdom in the 1960s and 1970s where his most notable film appearance was as one ofThe Dirty Dozen, Roscoe Lever, in 1967.[2] His other film roles includedI'll Never Forget What's'isname (1967) as one ofOliver Reed's film crew, andSubterfuge (1968) starringGene Barry andJoan Collins.[3]

Overlord, his 1975WWIIcollagedocudrama, originally failed to get US theatrical distribution and was only shown there in select screenings and on television (including a run onCalifornia'sZ Channel in 1982, which was highlighted in the acclaimed 2004 TV documentary filmZ Channel: A Magnificent Obsession).[4][5]

Accolades

His 1974 filmLittle Malcolm was entered into the24th Berlin International Film Festival, where it won theSilver Bear.[6] The following year,Overlord won theSilver Bear – Special Jury Prize at the25th Berlin Festival.[7]
