Spot "Spotty"Fetcher (March 17, 1989 – February 21, 2004) wasU.S. PresidentGeorge W. Bush'sdog. She was anEnglish Springer Spaniel, named afterScott Fletcher, abaseball player with theMajor League Baseball teamTexas Rangers, a team George W. Bush owned before becoming Governor ofTexas in 1994.
Born in theWhite House, she was the daughter ofMillie,[1] who had belonged to PresidentGeorge H. W. Bush and First LadyBarbara Bush. Her father was Tug Farish fromLane's End Farm inKentucky, better known for itsthoroughbred horse breeding program.

She waseuthanized after suffering a series of strokes. She was 14 years old.[2]
Spot is the onlypresidential pet to have lived in the White House under two presidents, the two beingGeorge H. W. Bush and his son,George W. Bush.
George had a dog at the time of her death,Barney, who became a popular figure for the US, and later another dog,Miss Beazley, who was born eight months after Spot's death.
