Siniša Saničanin (pronounced[sǐniʃasanîːtʃanin]; born 24 April 1995) is a Bosnian professionalfootballer who plays as acentre-back forBosnian Premier League clubBorac Banja Luka.
Saničanin started his professional career atRudar Prijedor, before joining Borac Banja Luka in 2015. The following year, he moved toMladost Lučani. A year later, he signed withVojvodina. Saničanin switched toPartizan in 2021. Three years later, he joinedDiósgyőr. He came back to Borac Banja Luka in 2025.
A former youth international forBosnia and Herzegovina, Saničanin made his senior international debut in 2020, earning over 20caps until 2023.
Saničanin came through the youth setup of his hometown clubRudar Prijedor.[1] He made his professional debut againstOlimpic on 14 September 2013 at the age of 18.[2] On 8 November 2014, he scored his first professional goal in a triumph overProleter Teslić.[3]
In the summer of 2015, Saničanin joinedBorac Banja Luka.[4]
In January 2016, he signed with Serbian sideMladost Lučani.[5]
In August 2017, he switched toVojvodina.[6]
In June 2021, Saničanin moved toPartizan on a three-year deal.[7] He made his official debut for the team on 17 July againstProleter Novi Sad.[8] On 26 August, he scored his first goal for Partizan in theUEFA Conference League play-offs againstSanta Clara.[9] Fourteen months later, he scored his first league goal in a defeat ofTSC.[10]
In July 2024, Saničanin joined Hungarian outfitDiósgyőr.[11]
In September 2025, he returned to Borac Banja Luka.[12]
Saničanin representedBosnia and Herzegovina at various youth levels.[13]
In March 2020, he received his first senior call up, for theUEFA Euro 2020 qualifying play-offs againstNorthern Ireland,[14] but had to wait until 4 September to make his debut in a2020–21 UEFA Nations League A game againstItaly.[15]
Saničanin married his long-time girlfriend Teodora in January 2021. Together they have a son named Strahinja.[16]
