Sinaspideretes is anextinctgenus ofturtle from theLate Jurassic ofChina, probably from theShaximiao Formation. It is considered the earliest and most basal representative of theTrionychia,[1][2] and is possibly the oldest known member ofCryptodira.[3] In 2013, it was proposed that this animal and the genusYehguia are in fact one and the same.[4]
