SES-4 is acommunications satellite operated bySES World Skies (nowSES).

Spacecraft

SES-4 was built bySpace Systems/Loral (SSL), and is based on theSSL-1300satellite bus. It is equipped with 52C-band, and 72Ku-bandtransponders, and at launch it had a mass of 6,180 kg (13,620 lb). It has a design life of fifteen years.[4]

Launch

It was launched on 14 February 2012, at 19:36:37UTC on aProton-M /Briz-Mlaunch vehicle, the launch was arranged byInternational Launch Services (ILS), sinceBaikonour,Site 200/39.[4]

Mission

It is positioned at 22° West orbital location overAtlantic Ocean, replacingNSS-7.[4]
