Rubén Pablo Magnano (born 9 October 1954) is an Argentine-Italian[1] professionalbasketball coach.[2]
Magnano served as thehead coach of the senior men'sArgentine national team. He led Argentina to the silver medal at the2002 FIBA World Championship.[3] Argentina also beatTeam USA during the tournament.[4]
He also led Argentina to a gold medal at the2004 Summer Olympic Games.[5] In the process, Argentina once again beat Team USA, that time in the tournament's semifinals.[6]
In January 2010, he became the head coach of the senior men'sBrazilian national team until 2016.[7] He was granted the PlatinumKonex Award 2010 as the best head coach from the last decade in Argentina. In 2018, he became the head coach of the senior men'sUruguay national team.
