ThePortugal men's national tennis team representsPortugal inDavis Cuptennis competition and is governed by theFederação Portuguesa de Ténis.

Portugal competes in the Europe/Africa Zone Group I in 2017, after being promoted from Group II in the 2015 season. They have never played in the World Group, but reached the World Group play-offs in1994 and2017.

History

Portugal competed in its first Davis Cup in1925. Their first opponent wasItaly, who won 4–1.

Portugal's most successful moment came in1994 after defeatingGreat Britain 4–1 in the Group I of the Europe/Africa Zone and qualifying to the World Group play-offs. The team led byJoão Cunha e Silva,Nuno Marques andEmanuel Couto lost, however, toCroatia 4–0 (the last rubber was abandoned).
