Linus Parker "Bullet" Hall (December 10, 1916 – February 8, 2005) was an Americanfootballquarterback,tailback andpunter who played for theCleveland Rams and theSan Francisco 49ers. He was drafted in the first round with the third overall pick in the1939 NFL draft.[1]

Biography

In his rookie season, Hall led the league in passing, was second in passing yardage, and fifth in rushing yards.[2] He was named the league'smost valuable player in 1939 and was the first professional player to complete over 100 passes in a single season.

On October 20, 1940, in a game against theChicago Cardinals, Hall set an NFL record with 46 yards per completion. Hall completed 3/17 passes for 138 yards, two touchdowns, and two interceptions.[3][4]

He spent four seasons with the Rams, and after returning from military service duringWorld War II, Hall played with the 49ers of theAll-America Football Conference (AAFC) during their inaugural season.

He moved toMemphis, Tennessee, after retiring from football and worked in the lumber business.
