Palaeocopida is an order of ostracods in the subclassPodocopa. Most species in the suborder are extinct, and only the generaManawa,Promanawa, andPuncia in the familyPunciidae are extant.[2] The members of the family live in high-energy shallow marine environments ofNew Zealand.[3]
