Oman competed at the2012 Summer Olympics inLondon, from 27 July to 12 August 2012. This was the nation's eighth consecutive appearance at the Olympics.
Four athletes from Oman were selected, competing only in athletics and shooting. This was also the nation's smallest delegation sent to the Olympics since the2004 Summer Olympics inAthens, Greece.
TheOman Olympic Committee was formed in 1982 and Oman made their Olympic debut at the1984 Summer Olympics inLos Angeles,California, United States. They have appeared at every Summer Olympics since and the2012 Summer Olympics inLondon, England, United Kingdom marked Oman's eighth appearance at the Summer Olympics. The four athletes present was their joint-second smallest delegation ever, only the delegation at the2004 Summer Olympics inAthens, Greece had been smaller.[1]
