Neptunyl fluoride is an inorganic compound ofneptunium,oxygen, andfluorine with the chemical formulaNpO2F2.[1][2]
Neptunyl fluoride can be obtained by the reaction of the hydrated trioxide with gaseous HF and by direct fluorination ofNp2O5 at 350 °C orNpO3·H2O at 225 °C.[3]
The compound forms a pink solid[3] ofhexagonal crystal system, spatial groupR3m.[4][5] Soluble in water, insoluble in commonorganic solvents.[1]
