NGC 886 (also known as[KPS2012] MWSC 0186) is a smallopen cluster located in theCassiopeiaconstellation containing between 20 and 30stars.[1][2] It was discovered by 19th century EnglishastronomerJohn Herschel on 30 October 1829.[3] NGC 886 is moving towards theSun with aradial velocity of -9.835 km/s±0.948.[4] It is located approximately 5544.67light years, (1700pc), from theEarth.[5]
