NGC 811 is an object in theNew General Catalogue. It is anelliptical galaxy located in theconstellation Cetus about 700 millionlight-years from theMilky Way.[3] It was discovered by the AmericanastronomerFrancis Leavenworth in 1886.[4][5] However, it is usually misidentified as a different object, thespiral galaxy PGC 7905.[6]
