NGC 4507 is abarred spiral galaxy in the constellationCentaurus.[1] It was first discovered by astronomerJohn Herschel in 1834.[4] It is classified as a type SBb galaxy.[3] The galaxy's radial velocity, relative to thecosmic microwave background is measured at around 3831 ± 22 km/s, corresponding to aHubble distance of around 56.50 ± 3.97 MPC.[2] It is also classified as a Type 2Seyfert galaxy.[5]
