NGC 297 is anelliptical galaxy in the constellationCetus. It was discovered on September 27, 1864, byAlbert Marth[2] and is classified as type E3, based ongalaxy morphological classification.[3]

To date, according toredshift measurements, a current distance of 236Mpc (~770Mly) is given for NGC 297. This value falls within the range ofHubble distance values.[4]
