NGC 1983 (also known asESO 56-SC133) is anopen cluster associated with anemission nebula which is located in theDorado constellation and part of theLarge Magellanic Cloud. It was discovered byJohn Herschel on 11 November 1836.[4] It has an apparent magnitude of 9.9[2] and its size is 1.0arc minutes.[3]
