Michael F. Cannon is an American think tank official, serving as the director ofhealth policy studies at theCato Institute.[4] An advocate forfree-market healthcare,The Washington Post has described him as "the premierlibertarianObamacare critic."[5]

Cannon received hisB.A. from theUniversity of Virginia in American government, and hisM.A. in economics andJ.M. in law and economics fromGeorge Mason University.[6] The author or editor of three books, Cannon favorsMedicarereform throughpublic option principles and ending tax exclusion foremployer-sponsored health insurance.[7]
